Two people have pleaded guilty to the horrifying thrill killing of a
Sarnia kindergarten teacher in the early hours of January 1, 2013.
Michael MacGregor, 20, and Tanya Bogdonovich, 32, stalked a woman they
did not know and murdered her. The victim, Noelle Paquete, 27, left a
New Year’s Eve party at 2.45 a.m on Sarnia’s Confederation Drive. Court
heard only preliminary details of the crime as MacGregor and Bogdonovich
pleaded guilty today (Friday, December 18, 2015) in a Sarnia court.
The plea came as a surprise to the dead woman’s family and reporters.
Ms Paquette, a teacher at St. Matthew’s Catholic School, was found dead
in a suburban wood lot January 2, 2013 after the community launched a
frantic search to locate her. Local news reports tonight describe the
motivation and background of the two killers as pure evil. They shared
an online interest and then joined together in the practice of torture
and abuse for their satisfaction. Unspeakable as it is, the crime will
again be discussed in more detail as to what MacGregor and Bogdonvich
did when court resumes February 10, 2016. MacGregor and Bogdonovich will

Tanya Bogdanovich called Michael MacGregor “the best friend I’ve ever had.”
“I feel so lucky I can’t even believe it.
I can feed every need. I can fulfill every urge, I feel no shame about what I like or who I am with you because U (sic) have the (sic) urges or at least ones that work so perfectly with mine,” she wrote to him in a computer message three weeks before they murdered Noelle Paquette.
“We will be an epic team.”
Bogdanovich and MacGregor, who had met seven months earlier on a social media website for people with interests in sadomasochism, brutally raped and killed the 27-year-old Sarnia kindergarten teacher on Jan. 1, 2013.
In such a short time, they put themselves on a fast track of sexual depravity. “A perfect match,” she wrote.
Like Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka, or Michael Rafferty and Terri-Lynne McClintic, who abducted, raped and killed girls, two morally bankrupt, violent people found each other — this time on social media. Quickly, Bogdanovich and MacGregor became a tour de force of debauchery and perversion.
The stunningly sinister lives of the two Sarnians are described in the Crown’s materials, released Friday after a sealing order was lifted, on character evidence that was filed with the court and argued in pre-trial motions last month, before Bogdanovich, 32, and MacGregor, 22, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder.
Their sentencing hearing begins on Feb. 10.
Both joined the sexual fetishes website wanting to explore the darkest side of their fantasies.
Bogdanovich was looking for others interested in “rape play” and had a sexual “bucket list” that included being raped in a wooded area. She took on many roles in sex play, but her dominant personality was Mistress Ivy, who “is mean, cruel, calm, calculated and completely dominates all situations when she gets to be in charge.”
She wrote stories about sexually assaulting teenagers. She said in some of the messages retrieved by the police that she was a teenage victim of sexual abuse at a group home in Sarnia. “Many moons ago,” she told a friend, mental health professionals wanting to help her with her sex addiction said she was a “danger”.
The only person she ever shared her sexual fantasies with after talking to the professionals was MacGregor.
MacGregor described himself as someone who could “be talked into just about anything,” and he was looking for someone to “experiment with me.”
He said he had “a very high sex drive to say the least.” In his first online connection with Bogdanovich, he said he wanted to be “broken” and discover how far he could go in the world of bondage and dominance.
He was deeply interested in perverted sex and a willing partner in rape role play. He told Bogdanovich in the early stages he was willing to take part in a forest rape fantasy, in which he’d take her to the woods, hunt her down and rape her.
The first day they met, he raped her on a trail at a conservation area. It was “scary and exhilarating,” she wrote.
Over the next few months, they seemed to try any kind of violent kink they could think of. Each took turns at being dominant and submissive. Police found photos of both of them with restraint marks, bruises, scratches and knife cuts on their bodies. They made graphic videos of their encounters that were part of the Crown’s case.
Bogdanovich wrote about her love of knife play and bleeding. MacGregor liked to choke her until she made him quit.
They also were into role playing. MacGregor would dress up as a Ninja pirate. She was the “puma” and he was her “cub.”
Bogdanovich sometimes put big bows in her hair or dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood or a maid. She liked MacGregor to play her “Daddy.” She called herself a “sociopath.”
The two posted photos of Bogdanovich leading MacGregor around at a Sarnia shopping mall on a leash. They gave each other nicknames — Sterling Archer and Lana Caine — from their favourite cartoon, FX’s Archer.
They kept upping the ante of their relationship while Bogdanovich had a boyfriend and three children and kept up her job as a nurse and personal support worker.
They made it clear they weren’t in an exclusive relationship, but McGregor was clearly hooked on his older partner. In a message to a friend, he said Bogdanovich had “opened the door to my true sadist” in him.
Things started to sour in the relationship in November 2012 when MacGregor was with another woman and ignoring Bogdanovich because she was having so many sexual opportunities and he wasn’t.
The sex had lost its lustre. They decided they needed more violence.
“Rape brought us together, violence has kept us together, violence has kept us going and rape will be what holds us strong when our bond is challenged,” Bogdanovich posted online.
“So next time I feel misplaced emotions of any kind I’ll just chant like a little girl, ‘I scream, you scream, we all scream for rape.’ ”
In early December, they started talking about abducting, raping and killing a teenage girl.
“We should make it like a routine kind of thing where we just approach random girls to get used to it,” she wrote to MacGregor.
“We can start next week babe,” she added
Bogdanovich went to a Home Hardware store in Sarnia and bought a knife that would ultimately become one of the murder weapons.
She assembled a group of online photos of local girls she found on Facebook, and on MacGregor’s 19th birthday she transferred them to a digital picture frame as a gift. The frame was in his backpack when he was arrested.
Meanwhile, Bogdanovich sent messages to a friend describing her love of knife play. “The metallic taste, the color (sic), the scarring and trace marks of my tool . . . makes me breathless,” she wrote.
The couple also began to express their love for each other and make plans to leave town in six months.
They had a young girl they knew in mind as a victim but on New Year’s Eve 2012, they discovered their intended target wasn’t available. “May hafta (sic) take a random,” Bogdanovich wrote MacGregor while she was at work as a nurse and personal support worker.
Forest rape was still on their agenda, and on Dec. 31 MacGregor talked about it online before Bogdanovich picked him up.
After they killed Paquette, police found three knives — two in MacGregor’s backpack and one in the car.
Police found DNA from Paquette and her two killers on all three knives. They also found evidence the couple returned to the crime scene Jan.2, 2013, just minutes before someone in the area called the police with a report of a blood trail leading into the bush.
The Crown theorized Bogdanovich and MacGregor returned to find her fetish gear bag that she kept in the car to hide from her boyfriend and containing “all her whips and her outfits and stuff like that,” one friend told police.
But they also could have returned so Bogdanovich — who’d shown interest in artistic photos depicting dead women killed outdoors — could see the body. One of those posed photos had been downloaded to her phone two weeks before she and MacGregor played out their final brutal, selfish fantasy.

Bogdanovich was looking for others interested in “rape play” and had a sexual “bucket list” that included being raped in a wooded area. She took on many roles in sex play, but her dominant personality was Mistress Ivy, who “is mean, cruel, calm, calculated and completely dominates all situations when she gets to be in charge.”
She wrote stories about sexually assaulting teenagers. She said in some of the messages retrieved by the police that she was a teenage victim of sexual abuse at a group home in Sarnia. “Many moons ago,” she told a friend, mental health professionals wanting to help her with her sex addiction said she was a “danger”.
The only person she ever shared her sexual fantasies with after talking to the professionals was MacGregor.
MacGregor described himself as someone who could “be talked into just about anything,” and he was looking for someone to “experiment with me.”
He said he had “a very high sex drive to say the least.” In his first online connection with Bogdanovich, he said he wanted to be “broken” and discover how far he could go in the world of bondage and dominance.
He was deeply interested in perverted sex and a willing partner in rape role play. He told Bogdanovich in the early stages he was willing to take part in a forest rape fantasy, in which he’d take her to the woods, hunt her down and rape her.
The first day they met, he raped her on a trail at a conservation area. It was “scary and exhilarating,” she wrote.
Over the next few months, they seemed to try any kind of violent kink they could think of. Each took turns at being dominant and submissive. Police found photos of both of them with restraint marks, bruises, scratches and knife cuts on their bodies. They made graphic videos of their encounters that were part of the Crown’s case.
Bogdanovich wrote about her love of knife play and bleeding. MacGregor liked to choke her until she made him quit.
They also were into role playing. MacGregor would dress up as a Ninja pirate. She was the “puma” and he was her “cub.”
Bogdanovich sometimes put big bows in her hair or dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood or a maid. She liked MacGregor to play her “Daddy.” She called herself a “sociopath.”
The two posted photos of Bogdanovich leading MacGregor around at a Sarnia shopping mall on a leash. They gave each other nicknames — Sterling Archer and Lana Caine — from their favourite cartoon, FX’s Archer.
They kept upping the ante of their relationship while Bogdanovich had a boyfriend and three children and kept up her job as a nurse and personal support worker.
They made it clear they weren’t in an exclusive relationship, but McGregor was clearly hooked on his older partner. In a message to a friend, he said Bogdanovich had “opened the door to my true sadist” in him.
Things started to sour in the relationship in November 2012 when MacGregor was with another woman and ignoring Bogdanovich because she was having so many sexual opportunities and he wasn’t.
The sex had lost its lustre. They decided they needed more violence.
“Rape brought us together, violence has kept us together, violence has kept us going and rape will be what holds us strong when our bond is challenged,” Bogdanovich posted online.
“So next time I feel misplaced emotions of any kind I’ll just chant like a little girl, ‘I scream, you scream, we all scream for rape.’ ”
In early December, they started talking about abducting, raping and killing a teenage girl.
“We should make it like a routine kind of thing where we just approach random girls to get used to it,” she wrote to MacGregor.
“We can start next week babe,” she added
Bogdanovich went to a Home Hardware store in Sarnia and bought a knife that would ultimately become one of the murder weapons.
She assembled a group of online photos of local girls she found on Facebook, and on MacGregor’s 19th birthday she transferred them to a digital picture frame as a gift. The frame was in his backpack when he was arrested.
Meanwhile, Bogdanovich sent messages to a friend describing her love of knife play. “The metallic taste, the color (sic), the scarring and trace marks of my tool . . . makes me breathless,” she wrote.
The couple also began to express their love for each other and make plans to leave town in six months.
They had a young girl they knew in mind as a victim but on New Year’s Eve 2012, they discovered their intended target wasn’t available. “May hafta (sic) take a random,” Bogdanovich wrote MacGregor while she was at work as a nurse and personal support worker.
Forest rape was still on their agenda, and on Dec. 31 MacGregor talked about it online before Bogdanovich picked him up.
After they killed Paquette, police found three knives — two in MacGregor’s backpack and one in the car.
Police found DNA from Paquette and her two killers on all three knives. They also found evidence the couple returned to the crime scene Jan.2, 2013, just minutes before someone in the area called the police with a report of a blood trail leading into the bush.
The Crown theorized Bogdanovich and MacGregor returned to find her fetish gear bag that she kept in the car to hide from her boyfriend and containing “all her whips and her outfits and stuff like that,” one friend told police.
But they also could have returned so Bogdanovich — who’d shown interest in artistic photos depicting dead women killed outdoors — could see the body. One of those posed photos had been downloaded to her phone two weeks before she and MacGregor played out their final brutal, selfish fantasy.
Online, Bogdanovich said the photo was “beautiful.”

'I saw my dad's face and his face was gray. And I just found out that his brother had died,' said Williams.
